Let's Go to Olive Garden!!

Olive Garden is one of the most popular restaurants in Spokane for young people to eat lunch and dinner. First, Olive Garden service is very good. As soon as I have drunk the water, then they pour more water. When we ordered one tiramisu, the waitress brought two plates, so we could share. It’s wonderful service. Second, there are a lot of choices on the menu. If you order pizza, you can choose the toppings on the pizza. They have like a set, so we can eat soup or salad and bread. It is very cute and clean. It is warm and sociable, so I could really relax. Its atmosphere was very good too, so I recommend going there on a date!! Finally, every food is so good! I haven’t thought that minestrone is good ever, but I feel it delicious at first time!! I come to love minestrone!!! Pizza was very soft. It was very good. If you have a chance to go there, please try it! I love olive garden!!!!!

Gonzaga University

Last week my conversation class and I went to Gonzaga University. While we were there, we made a group with four Gonzaga students. We talked about ourselves. I was the most interested in a Russian woman who lives in America now. I asked her why she moved here from Russia. She said "to find religious freedom." That was very interesting. "In Russia, we can't believe in God, but I want to believe in God, so I moved here to escape religous persecution", she said, so I asked her, "Don't you like Russia?" and then she said "Yes!" I wondered why she wanted to leave Russia!!, so I thought maybe she had wanted to escape religous persecution in Russia more than she loves Russia. We talked deeply!! I was glad to be able to have a deep talk with other foreigners!! Another thing that was surprised to me about this visit was that there were various generations of people who are students at Gonzaga University!! In Japan this is very rare, so I respect them. Some of them have six children!! It was amazing!! I was glad to experience the rare opportunity to communicate with people who are studying English as a second language. Today's conversation class is the best so far!! I want to go to Universities!!! By the way, there was a buffet!! I love this buffet style!!

An American High School

I noticed some differences between American high schools and Japanese high school. First, a American high schools students don't wear uniforms. At my high school in Japan, students have to wear uniforms every day. Second, I was surprised that American students have a lot of opinions, and opportunities to think about things. In Japan, we don't have opportunities to think! In Japan I think, only teachers speak and students only listen so there is only one way! This is not only high school, but in college and university too. There are not group discussions. We are only writing, listening, reading, and so on. Lastly, I was surprised to see a couple kissing in school too!! so I asked an American girl who was sitting in my group if that was normal. She said, "Usually couples aren't kissing in school, but some people do, but I don't like them." When I heart that it made me feel relieved . I didn't know whether or not it was normal before.

"Ruuuuuuuun!!"

I want to run! In Japan, I run long distances, about 5~6 kilometers with my friend named Ayumi. Ayumi is one of my best friends. My house is near Ayumi's house. We live in the same condo block. We have been friends for fourteen years. We were on the same basketball team in the same junior high school, so we are good at sports. Here, no friends can ran 5~6 kilometers with me. Only Ayumi. In Spokane, it's snowy now, so I can't run because it's too dangerous and it's too cold to run about three days ago I ran around MFWI with my friends. However, they got tired fast, so I think I want to be able to run long distances. I'm looking forward to running a marathon in Spokane. I want to keep running. I don't want to walk during the marathon, but I don't know whether I can reach the goal by running. Basically I like sports; I love to exercise!! Yesterday, I exercised in my room while I skyped with my boyfriend. Maybe if my friends saw me doing this, they would think we are crazy!! By the way, I haven't seen any Americans running yet. Do Americans hate to exercise?
